Horizon Engineering strives to provide a generous overall employee compensation package that exceeds the industry standard. Following is a description of the benefits available to all qualified employees:

Healthcare

Horizon Engineering provides a health plan for all qualified employees and will pay for 100% of employee health insurance coverage premiums. Dependent family members of the employee may be covered under company plan. Costs to cover dependents will be paid by the employee through pre-tax payroll deduction.

  • • Horizon Engineering currently offers the Aetna Point-of-Service 3.2 plan, which gives you the freedom to select your own doctors and hospitals. Aetna POS has all the benefits of a quality HMO, plus gives you the ability to access any physician or hospital without a referral.
  • • Along with the Aetna Point-of-Service 3.2 plan, employees will be enrolled in the Aetna Pharmacy-Prescription Drug Benefits Program $20/$40/$70. Employees will receive coverage for medically appropriate prescribed drugs. The Aetna Pharmacy-Prescription Drug Benefits Program is based on a formulary, which is a defined list of preferred drugs.

Dental Care

Horizon Engineering provides dental benefits to all qualified employees and will pay for 100% of employee health insurance coverage premiums. Dependent family members of the employee may be covered under company plan. Costs to cover dependents will be paid by the employee through pre-tax payroll deduction.

  • • Horizon Engineering currently offers Metlife Dental Plan. Metlife allows you to choose your dentist from a network of participating dentists or go out of the network for dental care. The plan covers 100% of preventive and basic services and 60% after deductible for major services. You will receive the greatest benefit from the plan when you visit a participating dentist. You may visit a non-participating dentist with this coverage, but may incur higher out of pocket costs.

Vacation

Horizon Engineering offers a generous vacation plan including time off proportionate to years of service as follows:

Personal Days

All full-time salaried and hourly employees shall be granted personal leave of 24 hours (3 days) per calendar year. New employees shall receive personal leave time for the first calendar year of employment according to the following schedule:

Holidays

Horizon Engineering observes eight paid holidays including all major holidays and two days for Christmas. Below is a list of the company-observed holidays:

Thanksgiving
Christmas – (two days)

401(K) / Profit Sharing Plan

Horizon Engineering offers an employer sponsored 401k-retirement plan. The plan provides employees with the opportunity to set aside pre-tax income for retirement savings through direct payroll deduction. The plan provides the employees with over 40 investment vehicles through which your savings may be invested. Funds may be moved between the various investment vehicles on a daily basis by the employee over the internet. The company will match 50% of the employee’s savings deferral up to a maximum of 6% of the employee’s salary.
