Director of Planning & Landscape Architecture
Mark T. Smith, RLA is experienced in landscape architectural practice, land planning and project management across a range of municipal, institutional, commercial, recreational and residential projects. As Director of Planning & Landscape Architecture, Mr. Smith is actively responsible for land planning, feasibility work, detailed landscape architectural design and planting design. His creative design talents combined with a solid understanding of construction practices, design principles, ecology and horticulture serve him well in this role. Careful attention to the safe interaction of pedestrian and vehicular patterns is a key aspect of Mr. Smith’s training and ongoing role as a landscape architect, and this makes him a great asset to the team. As a Project Manager, he is responsible for the overall management, operations, design, permitting and approvals for projects.
Mr. Smith also serves at the Field-to-Finish Quality Assurance Manager, assuring that the processes are in place to ensure the necessary field information is gathered to meet the needs of any design project, and providing project level quality control checks on individual projects. Mr. Smith remains actively involved in project management and design activities, including plan and specification generation, permitting, and presentation to the various public and municipal entities from which a project requires approval.
