The Woodlands at Greystone
Nature of Firm’s Responsibilities on the Project:
The Woodlands at Greystone project involved developing a residential community consisting of 179 single-family detached dwelling units, 252 age restricted single-family detached dwellings, 110 single-family semi-detached dwellings (twins), 48 single family attached dwellings (Townhouse style) and a country house estate lot. A network of new roads to provide access to the development was also planned.
HEA provided design and permitting of two sewage pumping stations, ACT 537 Sewage Facilities Planning, PennDOT permitting for road frontage improvements, NPDES permitting for stormwater discharge, floodplain analysis,several pedestrian bridges over existing waterways, and municipal land development approvals, including expert testimony at municipal hearings. Horizon Engineering also performed land surveying services–including boundary, topographic and location survey, off-site water and sanitary sewer route survey, road cross-section and right-of-way survey, and location of delineated wetlands and soils infiltration testing. Additionally, Horizon Engineering also coordinated the services of traffic engineers, wetlands consultants and soils scientists.Currently, HEA is performing construction stakeout services for the home builder.
Unique Design Features:
- Complex stormwater management design which included 28 on-site stormwater basins and erosion & sedimentation control design
- Design and permitting for 4 large open-bottom arch culverts
- Rehabilitation of 3 existing dams
